ABOUT US

In Turkey, Energy conservation and efficiency studies have been carried out since 1981. In this period some organizations and Ministries and especially the General Directorate of Electrical Power Resources Survey Administration (EIE), Energy Conservation Division (ECD) has been involved in the studies.

In December 1992, National Energy Conservation Center (NECC) was established within the body of EiE by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to increase the effectiveness of the activities and extend them overall the Country.

In the past, the primary organization for energy conservation, EIE/ NECC conducted three Energy Conservation projects financed by foreign sources. All, were mostly technical in nature and focused on energy audits, staff training, promotion and policy development.

As a result of all the above mentioned projects, EIE/NECC established its own energy conservation team of 25 persons trained by foreign experts and provided it with necessary equipment and vehicles (three Energy Buses and one Training Bus) to carry out various energy conservation activities overall Turkey. In order to recover potential energy savings identified by these projects, the following activities conducted by NECC.
