INTERNATIONAL ENERGY MANAGER COURSE
4-14, JUNE 2002, EIE/NECC, TURKEY


The International Practical Training Course for Energy Managers from Countries in Western and Central Asia was organized jointly by the Electrical Power Resources Survey and Development Administration (EIE), Ministry of Energy and Resources (MENR), Turkey, and the secretariat of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Bangkok, Thailand.

The course participants were totally 31 energy managers from the various Turkish Industrial sectors (11 Turkish participants)and the from countries of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Iran (20 Foreign participants).

The training course has comprised general lecture sessions as well as on-site training using the newly installed demonstration machinery and equipment of the NECC Training Centre.

The subjects discussed at lectures sessions include:

- Course orientation;
- Energy Management Principles;
- Energy Audit and Data Collection Methodology
- Identification of Energy Efficiency Potentials.
- Regulatory Measures on Energy Efficiency.

The practical training sessions used of following demonstration machinery and training equipment:

- Combustion Furnace
- Boiler
- Revolution machinery (Fan and Pump)
- Air Compressor
- Steam trap training unit
- Lighting
